For this painting, there is a combination of splashes, dots and splats for the background only and brushstrokes for the Cheetah to create a textured contrast. By doing this the Cheetah sits optically forward on the canvas and the dotted background is in recess. This painting needed a lot more detail to compliment the Cheetah in action rather than the more gestural appraoch I normally take.
